Senior Backend Engineer

We are hiring for a fast-growing E-Commence company who are focused on delivering high-quality services to businesses throughout Europe. The aim of the product is to ensure companies' operations can work efficiently and to their full potential.

Your responsibilities will vary depending on your skill set, you might:

• Enhance the next-generation WMS to provide a better service to clients and their packaging and shipping requirements, assign inventory across several warehouses strategically, and increase picking and packing efficiency.
• Create an advanced online application that will allow customers to view previous items which can be reordered, place orders on hold, and access return shipping instructions.
• Strengthen the application to enable customers to update their delivery options, view & print labels, and reorder their favourite products.
• Provide the merchants with accessible and clear data on their customer's interactions.
• Create and design a distribution network that is functional. Begin with sourcing and focusing on providing the best end-to-end by maximising transportation, stock, shipping, and supplier efficiency.

What you can bring: 

• Previous experience in writing in Ruby on Rails and multiplex apps.
• Excitement and enthusiasm about constructing, scaling and improving applications, systems and software.
• You are quality-conscious. You promote and provide well-tested well-documented and functional code.
• Knowledge about systems and software - You need to care about how your enhancements will affect the business, and if required, make trade-offs.
• You desire to develop and learn. You identify the tools and technology that will assist the company to grow in order to achieve your goals of personal and professional development.

Bonus points:

• You've written specifications using RSpec before.
• You are well-versed in OOP and test-driven development.
• Can implement e-commerce interfaces.
• Construction of warehouse management software expertise

• The backend is Ruby on Rails. All of our backend services are developed in Rails, which has helped us get started and iterate rapidly.
